Using Bioinformatics tools on Rivanna

The use of bioinformatics tools is increasing in many areas of research including genomics, RNA-seq, metabolomics, and others. The goal of this workshop is to give students an overview of some commonly-used bioinformatics applications that are available on UVA’s supercomputer (“Rivanna”). During this session, researchers will learn how to use FastQC, Trimmomatic and Bowtie, and other commonly-used bioinformatics tools. Prior experience with these tools is not required. Some familiarity with Unix is recommended.
