Optimizing R Code

Optimizing R Code

R is often considered a slow programming language. In some cases, this is caused by inefficient programming practices. This workshop examines how to write R programs which are more efficient. Topics will include the causes for R being slow, techniques for making R code run faster, and methods for timing blocks of code. Rivanna is available to UVA affiliated researchers. The only prior knowledge assumed for this workshop is some programming experience with R.

Prerequisites:  R programming experience

This workshop will be taught online via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent in a confirmation email after registration, and in a reminder email two days before the session.
