Using Bioinformatics Tools on Rivanna

The use of bioinformatics tools is expanding many areas of research such as genomics, RNA-seq, metabolomics among others "omics" and routine bioinformatic analysis benefits from being run on Supercomputers. This workshop is intended for beginners. The goal of this workshop is to give students an overview of some commonly used bioinformatics applications available in Rivanna supercomputer. During this session I will show how to use FastQC, Trimmomatic and Bowtie, and other commonly used tools.

No prior knowledge of the bioinformatics tools that will be presented at this workshop is necessary. Familiarity with Unix commands is recommended.

Prerequisites:  Basic Unix shell

This workshop will be taught online via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent in a confirmation email after registration, and in a reminder email two days before the session.
