CANCELED: Bioinformatics/RNA-Seq Analysis Part1
In order to support COVID-19 containment efforts, including social distancing, we have decided to cancel the upcoming Bioinformatics/RNA-Seq Analysis workshop.
We will share information about alternative delivery methods and/or rescheduling. Thank you for your understanding.
This session is aimed at students, staff, fellows or faculty working with genomic data. This is the first part of a two workshop series. Attendance at this session, or instructor permission, is required before taking Bioinformatics/RNA-Seq Analysis Part2.
In this hands-on workshop you will learn basics of high throughput RNA sequencing, including: how to check the quality of your RNA-Seq reads, how to determine if reads contain adaptor sequences, and if so, how to identify and remove the adaptor sequence from raw RNA-Seq data. We will discuss all the basic points in detail. At the end of the workshop you will learn how to run RNA-Seq pipeline on Rivanna or your own system.
Pre-requisites:
- No previous experience with the Unix operating system, Rivanna, programming, or genomics is required
- Attendees must bring a laptop to the session in order to connect to Rivanna compute system
- Date:
- Tuesday, April 14, 2020
- Time:
- 10:00AM - 12:00PM
- Instructor:
- Gladys Andino Bautista, Research Computing, and Pankaj Kumar, Bioinformatics Core
