Beyond PubMed: get to know the newest library resources
PubMed is an indispensable source for literature searching, but but maybe it's time to expand your collection of valuable search tools! Join us for a tour of exciting new resources for searching and information management available to UVA and UVA Medical Center. We'll describe basic features and use cases for these new products:
- Embase - find biomedical citations (especially in clinical medicine and pharmacy) to enhance your PubMed search retrieval
- Covidence - save time in your systematic or scoping reviews by adding this powerful web-based tool
- Scopus - identify literature via this large, multi-disciplinary database, and/or assess your own research output and find collaborators
- AccessSurgery - from McGraw Hill, an online source for premier surgery textbooks as well as case files and study tools
- VisualDx - find thousands of medical images to support clinical decision making and to use in creating educational materials
- Consensus.app - try out this UVA-licensed AI tool find find answers from millions of research papers
In addition to these new tools, we'll discuss some favorite resources with new features, such as Web of Science's addition of preprints, dissertations, and a new Grants Index. We'll also explore Browzine's easy table-of-contents viewing and LibKey Nomad's one-click PDF access.
