Python Web apps using the Flask framework
This two hour workshop will consist of about an hour of presentation and discussion followed by about an hour for in-class practice exercises. The presentation will cover creation of Web apps using the Flask app framework with Pandas and Bokeh. Web apps are data processing applications that may be deployed on a Web server and use a Web browser as a user interface.
Requirements: Participants should have a working knowledge of Python programming, the Pandas library, and data plotting with Bokeh, and should bring a laptop with Python version 3, Pandas, Bokeh, and Flask installed (all are included in the Anaconda 4.3 distribution). Python versions 3.5 or 3.6 and Anaconda version 4.3 are recommended. Python 3.5.2 will be used in class demonstrations. Installation instructions and practice data sets will be sent to registrants prior to the session.
